The closing ceremony of OPM project funded by British Government in Somaliland.

Hargeisa March 26, 2022 (WHM) – A farewell ceremony was held for the PROFR/OPM team, for a four-year project on Domestic Revenue Management funded by UK Government in Somaliland.

This project was part the Public Financial Management Reform Program (PFM), but it was specifically linked to the Revenue Departments, under the PROFR/OPM from 2018 – 2022, and was funded by the UK Government through its Foreign Office for Development in Commonwealth (FCDO).

This completed project, has been going on since 2018 and has made significant strides in modernizing domestic revenue management.

At the closing ceremony was addressed by the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Somaliland, Dr. Saad Ali Shire, Deputy-Minister Amb. Rhoda Jama Elmi, Director General Mr. Mohamed Abdi Gurhan and PROF / OPM Somaliland Country Manager Mr. Owen Wilcox, all of them said in their speech that significant progress had been made during the project.

At the end of the ceremony, the OPM team were honored with Somali cultural materials, two books about the country profile and appreciation certificates.
